Texaco - 1920 Pierce-Arrow Tanker Truck - #4 (2020) in the Brands of Texaco Series
The name Pierce-Arrow was once one of the most recognized and respected names in the vehicle industry. For 38 years, the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company in Buffalo, New York, produced some of the finest trucks and automobiles made. Pierce completed its first truck prototype in 1909. The four-cylinder chain-drive truck was of the cab-over type. Despite the company’s well-proven history in building luxury cars, there was nothing luxurious about the Pierce-Arrow trucks. They were, however, carefully engineered and very well built from top quality materials. As a result they performed and lasted well under heavy use which made it the perfect unit to haul large bulk loads of Texaco Valor Motor Oil to a growing number of industries.
