The “White Hat Special” was an ad campaign rolled out by Dodge featuring an attractive young woman in a white cowboy hat touting the popular features of the new Dodge vehicles. Options included a vinyl roof, deluxe wheel covers, chrome brightwork, whitewall tires, plus more, all for a reduced price. “Look for the special ‘White Hat’ sticker” ...and people did! The ad campaign was a success.
Auto World has replicated this Bright Blue Poly White Hat Special 1969 Dodge Charger owned by Bill Skelley. The August 2011 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines chronicles the history and restoration as Bill returns his 1969 Dodge Charger to award-winning condition better than factory spec!
