United States - Germini IV Capsule - Executive Series
After successfully sending astronauts into space and orbiting the earth via Project Mercury, America's next ambitious space project was the Gemini IV. Its mission was to prove the ability of mankind to remain in space for extended periods of time. Its secondary objective was for the US to perform its own "spacewalk," as the Soviets had already achieved the feat and America wanted to gain traction in the "space race." Eleven experiments were conducted during Gemini IV's mission, ranging from measuring radiation in space to the medical affects upon the astronauts.
Adult collectible designed for use by persons 14 years of age and older.
